Official opening of Creative Gardens

The new centre will be officially opened by the Mayor of Ballymena, Audrey Wales, on Friday at 9.30am.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will kick start a weekend full of exciting activity for all those who intend on visiting the new centre, with spot prizes, money off vouchers, face painting, treasure hunts and a visit from Cool FM.

Plans to build the new centre came to fruition three years ago, as part of a substantial £8 million ‘face lift’ of Galgorm Castle Estate, and over the past three months the final stages have been put in place to prepare the centre for its grand opening this month.

It is anticipated that the garden centre will attract in the region of 80,000 visitors per year, and employ up to 60 full and part time staff from the local community.

The overall expansion of Galgorm Estate will consist of three phases which include the development of the garden centre, a courtyard business centre and essential restoration of the Castle itself. The first phase is now complete, with Creative Gardens Galgorm Castle ready to launch this weekend.

Creative Gardens NI also have premises in Donaghadee and Bushmills, and specialise in colourful plants for every season, for both experienced gardeners and beginners alike. Plants are complemented by a huge range of garden accessories, giftware and interiors. In addition to the main shop at Creative Gardens, the new centre at Galgorm will also include one of the businesse’s extremely popular award winning cafés.
