OFMDFMmade DARDHQ call

Finance Minister Arlene Foster has refused to comment on whether the relocation of the Department of Agriculture to Ballykelly makes economic sense saying it was a decision taken by Martin McGuinness and Peter Robinson.

Lurgan UUP MLA Samuel Gardiner asked her for her Department’s assessment of the business case for the relocation of the DARD HQ.

She said: “The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development’s decision to direct her Accounting Officer to relocate the headquarters to Ballykelly was agreed, on behalf of the Executive, by the First Minister and deputy First Minister.”
