Often we fail to understand why things are so

Clouds may come and storms may break,

Look up and focus upon the blue,
Try putting some sunshine into life

Though blows fall and troubles brew.

Rather than dwell on shadows and diversity,

Endeavour to meet the day with a song,

Every mindful that in each circumstance

Your Heavenly Father is mighty and strong.

Let’s be content with what the hour unfolds

With the assurance that each passing day

Holds the enabling power of the Saviour

Who gently guides us on our way.

Each day’s a new challenge and an adventure,

Often we fail to understand why things are so,

But we know God will strengthen and shelter

When the winds of adversity blow.
