'Old made new'
CARRICK'S mission statement was invoked as the Mayor praised the Methodist Church on its project.
Alderman Jim McClurg commented: “ I am delighted that the church has retained this site since the 19th century and that the congregation can continue to enjoy many services and events here in Carrickfergus. Indeed, this new building reminds me of the borough’s motto – Gloria Prisca Novatur which translates as ‘The Glory of Old Made New’.
“I would take this opportunity to congratulate Reverend Aian Ferguson, church members and all concerned with the fundraising and completion of the church and wish everyone well in their future use.”
