Olderfleet pupils give a big push for Ben Nevis climbers

PUPILS from Olderfleet Primary have raised £470 in support of one of their teachers and some parents who are part of a team climbing Ben Nevis in aid of the Ulster Cancer Foundation.

Teacher, Mrs Doris Kirby and parents Debi Fekkes, Katherine Mulholland and Shirley McGuickan are part of the Befit team who are undertaking the Ben-Her climb of the Scottish peak at the end of June.

Personal trainer Andrea Kernohan, who is organising a Befit team of 34 to do the climb, visited the school and two two sessions of Zumba which the children really enjoyed.

Stephen Withers took a ‘bootcamp’ style session with the children which proved challenging but very enjoyable.

The children from P6 and 7 thought up a variety of challenging activities which got all the pupils from P1 upwards involved.

Thanks are extended to all the children and parents for their efforts.
