Oliie Wiltshire, from the St James’ area of the Maze, has so far managed to raise over £700 to date for the charity - more than double his original target.

The Meadow Bridge Primary pupil was encouraged by his mum Karen, who also has a five-month-old son, Harry. She said: “In January one of Ollie’s school themes was ‘People who help us’. As Comic Relief was coming up we planned to raise money to help others in need of help.”

Over the course of a week Ollie, under the supervision of his family, worked for an hour at Wilsons’ Greengrocers in Hillsborough where he brushed the floor, put out vegetables and watered plants. He baked buns at home to sell and worked in Coiffeurs Hairdressers and Barbers brushing the floor, cleaning, and giving out buns and biscuits. Ollie participated in a ‘danceathon’ at his auntie Laura’s house and helped out in his great-grandmother’s nursing Home, Lisadian House, where he made his great-gran’s bed and gave out biscuits at tea time. The young boy cleaned dishes and baked buns to sell as part of his fundraising too.

To finish off the week he had a party which included gungeing his papa Cyril. Ollie and his family have set up a web page for donations: https://my.rednoseday.com/sponsor/OllieandHarry .
