Olympic fever set to take hold in Market Square

Olympic fever will hit Lisburn next week with a special screening from the Rio games in Market Square.

As the 2016 Olympic Games get into full swing, fans in Lisburn won’t have to miss out as the action will be screened live from Market Square on Thursday August 18 from 12noon until 6pm.

The showing is free and will give spectators the chance to take part in interactive Olympic Sports such as hurdles and long jump.

Councillor Uel Mackin, Chair of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee said: “Market Square is a great venue, accessible to all parts of the city, and beyond.

“By locating the TV screen here, as we did when showing Wimbledon, the Council is ensuring fans have the opportunity to support their home team whilst enjoying the free activities on offer.”
