Omagh manslaughter case sent to Crown Court

The case against a Gortin teenager accused of manslaughter has been sent to the Crown Court.

Christopher McClean, 18, of Main Street, Gortin is accused of the manslaughter of Darren McBrearty on August 4 last in John Street, Omagh.

Appearing at East Tyrone Magistrates Court, Mr McClean replied ‘no’ when asked if he wanted to call witnesses or tender any evidence. He was released on continuing bail with an amendment allowing him to only enter Omagh for court appearances and legal consultations. He will appear at Dungannon Crown Court on May 20.
