On his phone while driving

While driving a tractor past police who were dealing with an accident a 23-year-old man was talking into a mobile.

James McRoberts, Flough Road, Banbridge, was fined £100 last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for using a mobile phone while driving. He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and given three points. For failing to produce his driving licence he was fined £100.

The court heard that on November 25 last year at 9.30am police were dealing with a collision at Barronstown Road, Dromore. McRoberts was seen climbing into a tractor. He drove past two vehicles at the side of the road and police could see him using a mobile. He was asked to produce his licence within seven days but failed to do so.McRoberts did not appear in court.
