Open day at Excursion Station

Whitehead Excursion Station is taking part in the annual European Heritage Open Days programme on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September.

Visitors will be welcomed at the Castleview Road site between 2.00pm and 5.00pm, admission free.

The station was developed in 1907 as an overflow platform for excursions from Belfast. The event will feature guided tours of railway works and facilities. Short steam train rides will be available for a small charge, while light refreshments can be obtained in the railway dining carriage.
