Operation Torus delivers results

Op Torus aimed to tackle street-level drug dealing, and was supported by a media campaign designed to encourage people to report drug dealing to police. Officers then used this information to target dealers and the sale and supply of illegal substances.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said, “Over the course of an eight week period, officers across our District seized almost £40,000 worth of illegal drugs. 
“We are very aware of the negative impact these drugs could have had on individuals, families and communities, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank people for their support throughout Operation.”
“Police officers remain committed to working with communities to minimise the harm caused by drugs,” Detective Inspector Gillis added, “I would ask members of the public to continue to report any information or concerns they may have in relation to drug activity or suspected drug activity. Police will act upon information received, and in so doing help reduce the harm caused in communities by drugs.”
