60th birthday dinner for Islandmagee North

Islandmagee North celebrated its sixtieth anniversary on February 17 with a dinner in the Reform Club in Belfast.

Guests at the event were Inver area executive member Tracey McIlwaine and federation chairman Margaret Collison.

President Anne Chin welcomed everyone and sent good wishes to all those who were unable to attend due to illness or accidents.

Two members, Rubena Woodside and Evelyn Hanvey, received honorary membership.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal in beautiful surroundings, and each member received a commemorative beaker and gift.

Entertainment was provided by members with a musical interlude. Shirley read a poem written by Liz Browne.

Anne thanked all who had contributed to a wonderful evening and paid tribute to the eight ladies who founded the branch.

The competition winners were: first, Ann Carson; second, Helen Smith.

The ballot winners were: first, Hazel Robinson; second, Vivien Matthews; third, Angela Rafferty; fourth, Shirley Sinclair.

Floral table centres by Florence and Liz were balloted.
