Another kick in the teeth

YES another kick in the teeth for Lisburn, this time its John Lewis’s before that is was the National Stadium. What is the man trying to do to us, is trying to kill off the economy,

I mean to say 1500 jobs and he doesn’t seem to want them. Mr Attwood needs to come off his `high horse` and start thinking for Northern Ireland and what we want instead of trying to push business away.

This is a disgrace both for Lisburn and Northern Ireland and it seems as if the Dept of Environment and the committee that make these decisions are only interested in keeping Belfast on the map.

What I do not understand, is these restrictions regarding bulk goods, what does he think is bulk goods, I mean to say look at the Abbey centre and tell me what is bulk goods there, B&M, Poundland, Matalan, Next and Marks and Spencer’s. If these are classed as bulk goods then surely John Lewis’s can be classed as bulk goods as it sells the same as B&M, Poundland and Matalan etc.

This decision has taken all faith out of Northern Ireland as a potential place for upcoming new businesses. From what I can see if any new businesses want to come here in the future then they had better make sure that they have plenty of spare cash so that they can bribe the DOE as this seems the only way of getting anything done here.

What is Lisburn going to do about this then, are we to sit on our backsides and just wait or are we going to petition our MP`s, MLA`s and Councillors.
