Answers needed over why dogs were put to sleep

I WAS left extremely distressed by a story two weeks ago regarding a Staffie mum an her two pups put down by Lisburn City Council because they didn’t look right and their legs were longer. This is like saying your child doesn’t look right, destroy it. Does it not?

We have to fight Breed-specific legislation (BSL) before Lisburn City Council break another family’s heart. We need answers on how this has happened. It’s very hard to tell the difference between the two types of breed. Who was the assessor that said these three dogs were Pit Bulls?

Twelve week old pups were not even given a chance at life, I can’t get my head around it. The mum didn’t even show signs of aggression, she just wanted to be with her pups and be a good mum. It’s heart breaking.

The killing of animals by Lisburn City Council is unspeakable. As humans we have this bedrock right, so do animals. The whole system must change and a ‘No Kill’ policy must become a reality for this very reason. We humans have no right to violate animals’ rights by taking their lives.

Lisburn City Council need to give answers and everyone out there should fight this law, before they come for your beloved pet!
