Ballmoney United success after success!

SIR - I left Ballymoney's' beautiful green pastures 27 years ago and in all my travels through Africa and the Far East the one constant I have always had, is my quest for the English Sunday Times (available in most countries on a Monday) to read of the daring exploits of Ballymoney United.

From week to week I would open the paper with a mixture of anticipation and sheer anxiety, desperate to read of the success, failure or most often "no result posted"!

Even my English wife long accustomed to my "Bogtrotter" ways, (her words not mine), of spitting in the sight of magpies, refusing to pay out money on a Sunday, calling a scallion a scallion and not a spring onion and declaring in posh restaurants that the now trendy dish called "champ" was an old Ballymoney dish, was overcome with sheer joy when in two consecutive weeks, I was able to read out at the breakfast table; Ballymoney Utd 2 Donegal Celtic 1 and then this morning Ballyclare 0 Ballymoney Utd 1!

Fantastic results. Please send my best wishes to the team through your austere organ and keep up the good work.
