Chapel Hill ‘bottleneck’ must be resolved

IT beggars belief that after making representations to Government for the past four or five years about the bottleneck created by cars parking at the bottom of Chapel Hill, we are still little further forward and plans to paint a few dozen yards of a yellow line have are now to be involved in a consultation process.

It underlines the fact that Marxist Equality legislation, fully supported by this Tory government, has deprived public bodies of authority and even the simplest measure must be subjected to a complex and convoluted system before sclerotic governance can move.

The issue at the bottom of Chapel Hill is one of traffic management and health and safety and I will be urging the PSNI to place ‘no parking’ cones in this area in the run up to Christmas so that shoppers and motorists will not be delayed in unnecessary traffic jams nor their safety threatened by the consequences of cars parked in a most unsuitable place.
