Roe Valley Leisure Centre will host the Neighbourhood Health Improvement Project funded event for the third successive year later this month with a packed list of stalls, treatments and information workshops on offer.

People will be shown how to check their waist measurements properly as part of the current Public Health Agency’s ‘choose to live better’ campaign.

A seven day Lifestyle Fitness Suite pass will be offered to anyone who attends, over the age of 16.

The evening is a “one stop health and wellbeing pit-stop for people with busy lives,” says Eimear.

“Nowadays, people struggle for time when it comes to their health and sometimes the stigma of visiting their GP puts people off.

“This event - which is completely free - offers a great starting point in a true community location.”

A full health check, including blood pressure, cholesterol testing, diabetes screening, lung function testing, body composition analysis and skin screening will be offered.

“We will also have an introduction to things like Yoga, Indian Head Massage, Massage and Reflexology,” says Eimear.

Nutrition and supplementation advice will also be covered on the night.

“We have Sam Conley from Cool Fuel Supplements coming to talk to people about how to best supplement their diets, and samples and information on the Herbalife Nutrition range will also be available,” says Eimear.

“The growth of primal or paleo eating has really taken off in recent years, and Limavady personal trainer Leona Vamos will be on hand to provide information on clean eating. A number of paleo style treats will also be prepared for people to try on the night.”

Sexual Health Awareness information will be on offer, as well as consultations with staff from NI Chest, Heart & Stroke, the Client Patient Council and Cancer Focus.

The Limavady Community Health Evening will take place on Wednesday, March 27 at Roe Valley Leisure Centre, from 6pm to 9pm.

Testing and therapies at the event are appointment based. You can contact Roe Valley Leisure Centre to secure an appointment.
