The money is needed for the everyday running of the historic bawn house at Whitehouse Park, which is open to the public as a visitor centre.

Fifty per cent of the money will be paid in advance, with the remainder being paid on receipt of an invoice and production of evidence of eligible expenditure for the year.

The local authority is currently in talks with the Trust about the possibility of taking ownership of the White House - the borough’s oldest building.
