Council praised for eco-town commitment
Friends of the Earth (Larne and District) commend Larne Borough Council for successfully bidding to take part in the Plugged in Places Government scheme.
By installing electrical vehicle (EV) charging points in the town, the council continues to show its commitment to making Larne an ‘eco-town’.
Supporting the use of EVs will reduce reliance on fossil fuels and contribute towards Northern Ireland’s carbon reduction targets. As EVs are generally charged overnight, this will use hitherto surplus energy generated by wind farm’s which will further support our renewable energy industry.
