More than a dozen volunteers, including local councillors Victor Robinson, Paul Girvan MLA, Dineen Walker, Audrey Ball and Robert Hill, completed the cycle from Mossley Mill to Titanic Belfast.

“Some of our members hadn’t been on a bike for 25 years, so well done everyone. It was an 11-mile route, with some participants also completing the return leg,” Cllr Robinson explained.

“I would like to thank South Antrim Community Transport and their driver, Robert, for use of a minibus; Mount Charles Catering at Mossley Mill for the much appreciated tea, coffee and scones on our return; to Sam for the use of his van; and all those who sponsored us.

“When the money is all in, we hope to have raised over £1,000 for Children in Need,” he added.
