Disgusted with Sinn Fein: Reader

SIR, To say I am disgusted with the attitude of Sinn Fein in relation to the Tesco store coming to the town is putting it mildly.

I voted for this party for years, but I am seriously considering staying at home this Thursday because of their attitude towards this plan.

Sinn Fein claim to work for the people. If this was the case they would be heeding public thinking and backing Tesco all the way for a site on Leyland Road.

My God, Ballycastle is hardly the biggest town in the world and to say Tesco are occupying a site on the outskirts is ridiculous. Outskirts of what? Some other supermarkets could be said to be on the boundary so what’s the difference?

Tesco would bring much needed competition as well as jobs - yes Sinn Fein JOBS or don’t you think that’s important?

Sinn Fein should realise they’ve lost public support on this issue and lost votes to the likes of Seamus Blaney who was the only one to stand up for Tesco in their Leyland Road application.

If there was a council election tomorrow I would be voting for him.
