'Disregard for people and press'

SIR, Ian Paisley Snr's decision not to contest the North Antrim seat at the next General Election is not entirely a surprise, but, given the years of support he received from the local electorate, and the prominent coverage afforded to him and his party by the local press I am disappointed by his disregard for both the people and the local press.
