Dog foul distress

East Londonderry MLA, George Robinson, has requested that pet owners ensure they clean up after their animals.

He said: “I have received a small number of complaints about dog fouling in the Anderson Crescent area of Limavady which is causing distress to some of the residents of the area. I wish to stress that I am very aware of the huge majority of responsible pet owners who ensure their pet does not leave any fouling when they are out exercising. It is therefore an essential that the very small minority of dog owners who are irresponsible by not cleaning up after their pets. I would urge those irresponsible owners, who currently do not consider the people of the areas where their pets are exercised, remember that dog fouling is a health hazard as well as being publically unacceptable. I would also request that the dog warden would keep the situation under observation.”
