Eight per cent of Magilligan Prisoners taking drugs
JUST over eight per cent of all prisoners at Magilligan Prison who were tested for illegal drugs or non-prescribed drugs returned positive results, the Justice Minister has confirmed.
He had been asked by Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Lord Morrow to “detail what percentage of sentenced prisoners tested positive for illegal and/or non-prescribed drugs, per prison facility, including Hydebank Wood, in 2012.”
In Magilligan, 8.39 per cent of all prisoners tested returned positive results; in Hydebank Wood the figure was 8.37 per cent and in Maghaberry the figure was 15.35 per cent.
