Enagh branch DUP pay tribute to Dr Paisley for 'great service'

SIR, The Enagh Branch of the Democratic Unionist Party would like to pay tribute to Dr. Ian Paisley and extend our appreciation for his dedicated service as the Member of Parliament for North Antrim.

Mere words seem inadequate in expressing our esteem for this man. His love for Northern Ireland and in particular, the people of North Antrim, has driven over forty years of service and a record worthy of recognition by all.

We have fought many election battles together, in good times and in the hard times. It has been an honour to work with him through the years – some members from the very beginning and some recruited in more recent times.

Anyone who knows Dr. Paisley will know there is much more to the man than what is often portrayed in the media; if you are fortunate to be one of these people, you cannot help but be impressed by his passion for this constituency. He has been unfailing in his representation of North Antrim, regardless of community background, race or creed. Over the years, many people have sought his help and proven the saying true - "If you want something done, Paisley is your man".

Our thanks also extend to Mrs. Paisley who has ably supported and gracefully shared her husband with us.

Looking to the future, Enagh is delighted that Ian Paisley Junior has been selected to pick up his fathers mantle and continue the work. As MLA for North Antrim and Dr Paisley's Westminster Assistant, Ian has proven himself worthy of the position. His reputation for hard work, uncompromising promotion and representation of North Antrim demonstrates that he is the candidate to support in the upcoming election.

Our message is clear: as we have said, over the past 40 years and hopefully for many more to come - VOTE PAISLEY.
