Free booklet for those with Type 2 diabetes

AS Type 2 diabetes has reached epidemic proportions, many of your readers will have this condition. The Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust wants to support people with Type 2 diabetes, especially those who are struggling to understand and manage their condition.

Our Trust has launched a new free booklet `Type 2 Diabetes - Management and Medication’ to help people better understand their diabetes and the on-going management of the condition.

Many people do not receive enough support and education about their condition so struggle with controlling their blood sugar levels, maintaining a healthy weight and coping with their medication.

The booklet explains the different types of treatment, such as tablets and/or insulin and the ways in which the different types of medication work. In addition, it lists the nine recommended tests that patients should expect to be carried out annually by their GP or nurse to help them reduce the risk of developing long-term complications of diabetes.
