Funding granted for suicide counselling

FUNDING has been granted to local community groups and Limavady Borough Council to run a ‘counselling support programme’ for people affected by suicide.

Funding has been granted to the local council, in partnership with Roe Valley Residents Association, the Glens Community Association and North West Counselling, by the Public Health Authority for a counselling support programme for those affected by suicide.

The Director of Development at Limavady Borough Council, Valerie Richmond, said: “This programme is a pilot and will run up until the end of March 2013. The programme will allow residents of Limavady Borough to access a counselling programme which will provide a listening ear service, support, signposting, and holistic therapies to anyone who would like to avail of it.
