Funding sought for Benone upgrade

Plans for an upgrade of tourist facilities at Benone worth “in the region of £375,00” appear to be at an advanced stage.

Ahead of a meeting scheduled for last night, councillors in Limavady were informed that Limavady Borough Council’s application, made under the NI Tourist Board’s ‘Tourism Development Scheme’ had passed the ‘Economic Appraisal’ stage and was ‘now with the Assessment panel for consideration’.

The project is worth an estimated £375,000 with £140,000 to be paid for by the Tourism Board if successful.
