Glad of support for post 16 at Beechlawn

I am very pleased to see Lisburn City Council lending their full support to the campaign to introduce Post 16 provision at Beechlawn School.

This would add another vital option for young people like my son who is not ready to move onto the other supported training or academic options at this stage.

The extra two years at Beechlawn would help to equip him for his post secondary employability and lifestyle choices.

Other board areas such as the Western Education and Library Board do offer this choice for moderate learning difficulties secondary schools and it is about time the SEELB adopted a equitable position on this issue.

The extra years at Beechlawn School will benefit a lot of the pupils.
