Information event and fun day is big success

Mental Health Matters NI has thanked everyone who attended its information event and family fun day at Rathcoole Youth Centre on Saturday, September 6.

The Rathcoole-based group organised the event to help local people access information and advice about mental health issues.

Members of the public got to meet with representatives of a number of mental health charities, healthcare providers and other organisations.

A raffle held on the day raised £290, which will help the group stage other events such as a Darkness to Light Walk and a Christmas Fair, as well as running awareness courses in the community to help people cope with depression, anxiety and stress.

Chairperson Susie Logan thanked all the local businesses that donated raffle prizes, those who came along and joined in the fun, and the NI Fire and Rescue Service for their visit, which helped make the event a great success.
