Lagan Valley staff went above and beyond the call of duty

RECENTLY our mother died in Ward 1B Lagan Valley Hospital.

She had Alzheimers disease and died of Asparatic Pneumonia on July 18.

Whilst in hospital, mum received the most expert of caring treatment we could ever have wished for.

All of the staff on ward 1B from cleaners to senior nursing staff and doctors displayed professionalism above and beyond the call of duty.

All too often in the press, we are bombarded with less then favourable reports regarding the NHS.

There is no doubt in some cases these reports are justified but we cannot praise the staff enough.

They made our mother comfortable in her last days and they kept us informed at all times even when the news we received was bad, they delivered it in a caring way.

Prior to hospital, mum resided in Laurelhill House Residential Home for six and a half years and once again she was so well cared for by staff who took pride in their work.

We felt that they looked after mum like they would have cared for their own relatives.

Please extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone concerned.
