Landmark should be better utilised

As a visitor exits the Lisburn Train Station, that person should be met with awe of our city. Looking along Railway Street it should be possible to see more of the Cathedral.

This landmark should be better utilised in drawing a picture for the tourist and enabling that tourist to turn left or right at the cross-roads of Market Square and Castle Street to explore and hopefully ‘shop till they drop’ in our city.

In short, common sense would dictate that the tourist centre should be moved to Railway Street or near to the Cathedral and any building that prevents a view of the Cathedral modified accordingly. I

t should also be noted that, notwithstanding the very good works that charity shops do, we need to rebalance the norm of taxation so that Lisburn does not become a city of charity shops alone.
