Local dancers scoop prizes at Portrush Dancing Festival

PUPILS from the Limavady-based Allen School of Irish Dancing scooped a series of prizes at the recent Portrush Dancing Festival.

Among the many prize-winners were Jill Devlin, who came first in the Reel and first in the Treble Jig for U11s. Sonia McAleese finished second in the Light Double Jig, third in the Treble Jig and Highly Commended in the Reel. Hannah Thompson came first in the Novice U9 years. Ellie Canning came third in the Single Jig U13 years, and Lucy Holmes came fourth in the Light Double Jig U11 years. Robyn Quigg and Lucy Allen were top prizewinners U9 years. Robyn was highly commended in the Reel and Treble Jig, while Lucy was third in the Treble Jig and Reel and Highly Commended in the Double Jig.

Aimee Hargan finished first in the Treble Jig U9 years, and came fourth in the Couples U9 years alongside Robyn Quigg.
