Look at who the real heroes are: Reader

SIR - Can I just say that Ballymoney Council would need to take a look at who the real heroes of their town are, and thankfully they are both still alive.

We have two soldiers who risked lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of these men was Major Adrian Patrick who received A Lord Lieutenants Certificate, which is the highest honour for a Territorial man this is someone doing his day job and also fighting for his country. The second man was Col Sgt. S. McConnell MC.

Stephen received the Military Cross for his bravery in Afghanistan. These are our heroes and Ballymoney Council never recognized them which I think and many other people like wise think that it was a total disgrace.

The Council are more interested in sport and someone who won the Olympic Games 100 years ago. I think they should get a grip and get their priorities right maybe the DUP are wanting the TUV to gain votes even suggesting such a thing and forgetting about the real heroes.

Yours etc.,
