The money, which was split between the three charities, was raised at various events over the past 12 months, including civic receptions, Christmas events and more recently the Mayor’s Play Day.

Speaking at the event, Alderman Agnew commented: “It is my pleasure to present my chosen charities with this money. Each charity is very close to my heart and I know the funds will be put to good use and of benefit to many people.

“I would like to thank all the volunteers from the charities who assisted with the fundraising events throughout the year and to everyone else who turned out to support the events and help raise funds for these worthwhile causes.”
