New Interact club launch

A launch ceremony has been held at Downshire School for the latest Interact club in Carrickfergus.

Principal Jacqueline Stewart welcomed Sam Crowe, president of Carrickfergus Rotary Club and Jim Dunlop, Youth Activities convenor.

During the ceremony, the new Interact president was presented with her medallion of office and the club members received their badges.

Mr Crowe congratulated the team on their appointment and Mr Dunlop wished them well and he looked forward to a close association with their Interact activities.

For the first time Carrickfergus Rotary Club entered a number of young people for the Rotary Young Citizen Award. The scheme is designed to recognise young people under the age of 25 who have demonstrated exceptional citizenship.

Carrickfergus Rotary extended congratulations to Downshire pupils Courtney, Erin and Chris on achieving runner-up certificates.
