People’s choice to live on the streets

I READ your article with interest that said three Polish men who have been living in tents at a site near Hulls Lane are supposed to be homeless and broke.

I watched on the television how a councillor even went to see them at their site on the Ballinderry Road.

People seem to be bending over backwards for these three. The Housing Executive etc have been trying to get them housed because they are supposed to have no money,

But I saw shopping bags lying around. Where did the money come to buy stuff there?

I am particularly annoyed because my son had been waiting for eight years on housing accommodation and could not get a house at all. It seems unfair everyone is working so hard to get these guys housed and there was no help for my son. I had to help him get private accommodation.

There seems to be a lot of help for these three who are homeless but some people have a choice - they can live on the streets or not live on the streets. Some people just cannot be helped and don’t want to be helped.
