Permission granted for housing in Ballyeaston

Antrim and Newtownabbey Council’s Planning Committee has voted to support a recommendation to grant outline planning permission for four new semi-detached houses in Ballyeaston.

An existing dwelling in the village will be demolished before work begins on the construction of the four new houses.

Speaking on behalf of objectors, UUP South Antrim MLA Adrian Cochrane Watson claimed that the new houses “would have a detrimental effect on the character of the village.”

However, committee members agreed approval of the outline application.
