Pets and owners made us welcome

STAFF from veterinary charity, PDSA, were delighted to meet so many local pets, and their owners, when our PetCheck vehicle came to Lisburn last week.

We were visited by dogs of all shapes and sizes on the day, ranging from trim terriers to hefty hounds. Our veterinary nurse was on hand to check the canine visitors’ body shape, dental health and general fitness, and to give advice on caring for other pets.

As well as providing PetChecks to dog owners, PDSA provides free veterinary care for the sick and injured pets of people in need, throughout the UK. To run these vital services we rely entirely on public support and donations, so I would urge all animal-loving readers to support our much-needed work.

If you missed PDSA’s PetCheck visit you can get free pet health information by logging on PDSA’s website, www.pdsa.org.uk.
