Yet again, on Saturday, April 11 at our annual cake sale, we received unprecedented support from the local community for which we are truly grateful. This has greatly encouraged the young members, who are delighted that it is now possible for the band to purchase new items of uniform.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the ladies and gentleman of the support committee, who donned their aprons and lifted the

wooden spoons, providing such a wide and varied range of goodies on the day.

Excitement is growing as our 100th anniversary fast approaches. Preparations are well underway with Raymond Clifford, our drum major and oldest serving member, and Grahame Harris, pipe sergeant and secretary, putting together an oral and photographic history of the band from its inception in 1919.

If anyone has stories, old photographs, old uniforms, newspaper cuttings or if you or a family member has ever played with the band, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Grahame Harris on 028 9443 2412 or email [email protected]

You can also call in and see us at band practices on Mondays and Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm.
