Praise for Heading’s role in protecting environment

I WOULD like to comment on last week’s article that highlighted the successful campaign to install long overdue fencing on an Urban Landscape Wedge on Upper Dunmurry Lane, that had been denied the protection its status deserved,

I feel obliged to write in appreciation of the sterling work on the ground of Cllr Brian Heading, whose years of diligent enthusiasm, alongside our community role models and elected representatives on all sides of the house, has been to the fore in creating a working link between community groups and elected representatives that should be jealously guarded, lest their influential voice is diminished in the corridors of Belfast City Hall.

This is especially important to our community group which believes that the unity of elected representatives on Environmental and Planning issues has been a major factor in stemming the flow of the developer driven apartment juggernaut that has left mortgagees paying a king’s ransom to reside in flats, many of which have not only fallen into negative equity, but may have been aimed at those who hadn’t planned in putting down permanent roots.
