£12k funding for youth projects

More than £12,000 of summer intervention funding has been awarded to eight local projects offering diversionary activities for young people during July and August.

Groups to receive grants include Ballyduff Community Redevelopment Group (£1,500), Rathcoole Community Churches Group (£2,250), St Enda’s GAC (£1,500), New Mossley Presbyterian Youth Club (£2,249) and Glengormley Amateur Boxing Club (£2,250).

The funding from OFMdFM is aimed at young people at risk of being engaged in sectarian violence or clashes over the summer months, particularly those who live in interface areas.
