Reader's contempt for bomb scare culprits

SIR, As someone who is closely involved in charity work I would like to express my utter contempt for the individual or individuals who disrupted the concert at Ballybrakes the other week by reporting a bomb scare.

Words failed me when I heard what had happened to the organisers whose motiviation was for the benefit of others less fortunate than most.

How could anyone do such a thing? Is there someone on that side of town who just doesn’t want to see concerts there? I cannot imagine so. Is someone so sick that they would stoop to that level? What sort of society do we live in? These are the questions I keep asking myself without any answers.

Cancer hits one in three they say and every year of our lives increases the risk. I just hope that those who carried out this act or their relatives and friends don’t ever contract any serious illness and find there isn’t enough money in the Health Service to treat them.

They might be glad of the odd thousand or two coming from charities to ease their discomfort.

Yours etc.,
