RNLI flag day raises £1,300 for lifeboats

A flag day for Larne RNLI Fundraising Branch has raised £1,382. The sum was donated during a street collection on November 29.

The fundraising branch of Larne RNLI has extended thanks to everyone who contributed so generously and to all its collectors, including lifeboat crew members.

The branch says that its Christmas shop has been “a great success” and has expressed gratitude to the owners of the former Santander premises for allowing its use.

Thanks has also been extended to EABC; Larne Tourist Office and all who helped in setting up the shop and its volunteers.

A ballot for a painting by Shirley Maxwell was won by Mrs Rutherford, Larne, and the closing date for the fireside quiz is tomorrow (Friday).

There are Christmas cards and calendars still available for sale at Hill’s office, Agnew Street, and the Larne RNLI branch is grateful to David and his staff for their support.

The next fundraising event will be the annual “Icebreaker” sponsored swim at East Antrim Boat Club, on Boxing Day, at 1pm.
