Rural support group seeks new volunteers

A support service for the rural community is seeking volunteers.

With the arrival of Volunteer Week (June 1 until 7), Rural Support is interested in hearing from individuals who would like to join its team.

Are you aware of the changes, issues and hardships facing the farming and rural community and understand the importance of having someone to turn to for guidance and support in helping to cope with these challenges? You might ask yourself ‘what can I do to help?’

Volunteering with Rural Support may be the answer. Who else would be better placed to do so than someone who has the understanding and knowledge of the issues that farming and rural families are facing?

With the number of calls to the helpline having doubled over the last year, Rural Support needs more volunteers.

There are flexible opportunities within the areas of outreach, emotional support, helpline cover, and technical/practical support. For more information, contact Clodagh Crowe volunteer coordinator on 028 8676 0040, email [email protected], visit www.ruralsupport.org.uk
