Santa Stroll coming to town

Foyle Hospice will be holding their third Santa Stroll in Limavady this December. The gentle Stroll will commence at 11am and both start and finish at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre.

Entry is £6 and all participants will receive their very own Santa Suit as well as a medal and an extra special treat waits at the finish in the form of a tasty hot chocolate from Café Piazza!

The Santa Stroll is open to everyone and is without age restrictions so get together with family, friends or colleagues for a fun morning whilst helping Foyle Hospice provide Hospice Care in your community.

Speaking at the recent launch of the event, Rachel Bruce, Community Fundraiser, said: “I am delighted to announce the details of our third Limavady Santa Stroll. We had a fantastic turnout last year with around 200 Santa’s walking around the bypass and through the town centre.

“This is such an exciting event as it falls in the run up to Christmas so what better way to enjoy the festive season than trying to get as many people as possible out on the day and see Limavady lined with strolling Santa’s.

“Our aim is for everybody who participates to enjoy the day and the novelty of dressing up whilst helping the Hospice at the same time. I would like to express my thanks to Café Piazza for coming on-board again this year and kindly providing hot chocolate to heat up all our Santa’s when they finish.”

Foyle Hospice provides specialised palliative care to those terminally ill with cancer and other life limiting illnesses such as MS, Motor Neurone Disease, Pulmonary and Heart Disease and Parkinson’s, as well as, support services for their family and loved ones.

The care is provided through the In Patient Unit, Homecare Team, Day Therapy Unit and Bereavement Services. Over a 12 month period the Foyle Hospice Community Specialist Nurses made 4018 visits to patients and their families in their own homes. Events such as the Limavady Santa Stroll help fund this service and the many others Foyle Hospice provide.
