Sea Cadets grateful

Larne Sea Cadets would like to thank the people of Larne for their generosity, for contributions of £505 during their street collections on July 4 and 7 and £1,023 during their doorstep collections from September 17 to 21.

All money donated will go towards the activitis at the Larne Sea Cadet unit at the Dixon Hall in Drains Bay. The cadets, 12 to 18-year-old girls and boys, meet on Monday and Thursday evenings each week from 7.16pm.

New recruits, cadets and adult helpers, are always welcome to enjoy ‘serious fun’ based on naval disciplines. Opportunities are available year round to travel, whether for competitions, training or just visiting. In fact, two Larne cadets were windsurfing and powerboating near Edinburgh last weekend.

More information is available from from S Lt Deidre Lewis, officer-in-charge, at the unit any night, from the website www.abercorn.org, or by phoning 0788 9975441.

Alan Tweed,

Lieutenant (SCC) R.N.R.
