Special protection for Carnlough’s Cranny Falls
Cranny Falls has been declared an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) by the Department of the Environment.
The 1.2-mile walking route near Carnlough, which follows the route of an old limestone railway track to the now disused Gortin Quarry, is now afforded legal protection against specified operations or activities that may damage its scientific features.
