The squadron met with Mayor of Carrickfergus, Alderman Billy Ashe, who provided them with an overview of the role of the council and an informative talk on the history of the borough.

Alderman Ashe also highlighted the proud military connections of the town from its earliest days right to the present day.

The visit to the Town Hall also coincided with Flt Lt Nicola Wilson’s last night at the squadron. Nicola had been the Officer Commanding of Carrickfergus ATC for over seven years. The cadets and staff presented her with a picture of Carrickfergus Castle and the Mayor provided her with a gift from the borough.

The squadron members meet each Monday evening from 7.30pm at their hut on the Prince William Way.
