Straid pupils back appeal

Staff and pupils at Straid Primary welcomed workers from Blythswood Care to their school assembly recently.

The visitors shared information about the charity’s Shoebox Appeal, showing the children a video of how shoeboxes full of toys, clothing, toiletries and other items are collected, sorted and sent out to Eastern Europe and Asia where they are distributed to those who may not receive any other gifts at Christmas.

The schoolchildren have since been able to help the men from Blythswood load shoeboxes that they collected over the past number of weeks onto a lorry. The gifts will be distributed to people in a region of Romania.

Staff at Straid PS have thanked all those who helped to fill shoeboxes and sent them into school.
